  Skagit Fisheries Enhancement Group

Day of Service

Join Skagit Fisheries Enhancement Group on Monday, January 15th at Little Carey’s Slough near Hamilton, WA from 10am-1pm!

Martin Luther King Jr. Day is a designated AmeriCorps Day of Service, so our two WSC members Connor and Clare will be in attendance helping plant trees! Per the AmeriCorps website: “Join us this MLK Day as we come together to build a Beloved Community through unity, service, and transformation. Let’s honor Dr. King’s legacy by working toward a more just and equitable society, where everyone is valued and respected, regardless of their race, ability, religion, or background. By participating in service projects, we can bridge divides, heal wounds, and create lasting change that will benefit our communities for years to come.”

The site doesn’t really have a proper address, so to find it, just enter 48°31’48.3″N 121°59’15.7″W into your navigation app/Google and it will direct you to a site off Walders Rd. Parking will be off Walders as well. Follow posted signage for directions to the site! It is about a 100yd walk from the parking area to the planting site, with quite muddy and uneven terrain on the way.

We will provide gloves, tools, and light snacks. Dress for the weather, we recommend lots of layers and some boots you don’t mind getting dirty!
