Bowman Bay Volunteer Opportunity
August 31, at 10am-1pm
Located along the scenic shorelines of Bowman Bay at Deception Pass State Park, this planting is part of the nearshore restoration project that began in 2015. Skagit Marine Resources Committee partnered with the Northwest Straits Foundation (NWSF) and State Parks to remove approximately 540 feet of rock armoring from the Bowman Bay shoreline. The goal of the project was to re-grade the beach to match the natural contour, add beach nourishment material suitable for forage fish spawning, and enhance riparian vegetation to protect the shoreline and provide important habitat.
Join us for a weeding and watering work party on August 31, to maintain the health of the shoreline restoration planting and ensure another successful year of continued growth. RSVP Kelsey Taylor at email@example.com or (360)336-0172 ext. 306
