Connecting Environmental Educators

— solutions, ideas and resources to restore our world —

Join us for a day of online networking, learning, and sharing for NW Washington environmental educators. Learn about new and time-tested programs, discuss your concerns, hopes, and ideas, and meet the many informal educators in our community. We especially welcome classroom teachers to join.

Sessions throughout the day will cover topics such as:
Arts and science, practical tools for virtual teaching, how 2020 may have changed global transportation, climate change progress and solutions, our sense of place in a virtual world, 12,000 raingardens, turning dreams into successful endeavors, and much more. . .

Keynote speaker, Kira Mauseth will share the physical and emotional responses to disasters such as COVID19 and how we can communicate and interact more effectively with others in the context of COVID-19, and increase our own sense of strength and resilience.

Monitoring Plastic in Our Watersheds

Volunteers Needed!

 Plastics

The Trash and plastic debris in this photo was found in just a few square feet along a beach in Skagit county.  We are beginning a community effort to monitor plastic and other manmade trash throughout our loal watersheds and develop solutions. Would you like to be involved in program development for this project? Please email Chandler Colohan ccolahan@padillabay.gov to find out about the upcoming information session.
